CN3 and Ruggedness

As a result of Intermec’s on-going investment in product enhancements for the CN3 Series, the CN3 mobile computer will now meet a 1.8m drop specification as defined by the United States Army’s Developmental Test Command Standards MIL-STD-810G. This specification change will apply to all CN3 model configurations.  With the 30 cm increase in drop test specifications, from 1.5 m to 1.8m customers have an additional assurance that the CN3 will minimize the risk of lost data and productivity  and, therefore, deliver a lower total cost of ownership.

As Intermec conforms to the industry’s fully rugged drop test standards, as defined by the U.S. Army’s Developmental Test Command Standards, MIL-STD-810G, the handheld unit is dropped 26 times on all faces, sides and corners per the test specifications.  These tests are performed to ensure that the CN3 your customer purchases will meet the most demanding in-field mobile work environments.

The CN3’s fully rugged, industrial grade classification, combined with its compact PDA style form factor and full feature functionality, makes it a stand out. The primary competitor, Motorola MC75, lists a rugged or durable classification and does not test or conform to the ultra tough 810 standard of 26 drops to all surfaces – especially the corners.
